Margarita, teacher and craftsman by profession. Certified as an artisan with the name of Terekes. With love, dedication and skill he works in different segments of the craft. It makes lampshades, bracelets, wallets, swimsuits and underwear. He also dabbled in painting. Among its raw materials, it uses macramé, coconut, vegetable leather, glass, and fabrics.
Her Uncle Toño Ortíz was an expert at weaving armuds and she grew up watching him in his process. Since she was little she was attracted to crafts, when she walked home, if she saw a seed or something she could use, ideas immediately came to her mind to turn them into something useful. If he went to the beach he collected snails, he took the threads out of the magnets to make bracelets, he loved playing with plasticine.
Margarita tells us that her skill is something she was born with, something that is in her blood and that even when difficult moments arise that are part of life, craftsmanship serves as therapy to overcome everything.
Her husband, Carmelo Rodríguez, is also an artisan, so Margarita and Carmelo share the beautiful gift of craftsmanship.
