Do you need a visa to go to Puerto Rico?

Short Answer:  No

Since Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, American citizens do not require a

passport to enter the Island.

However, they must always travel with a valid ID.

Climate

The climate in Ciales is warm and tropical 70 to 80 degrees in summer and 60 degrees on December and January.  It’s common that we got some showers at afternoons.

Being a mountainous area, Ciales varies in the reception of signal phone depending on the company coverage. You can experience from a perfect reception; to loss of it on some areas.

Safety Tips

• Identify where the ATM’s are located.  Some places may be don’t have credit cards system.  Have some cash but limit the cash you carry.

• Always leave any valuables, such as purses, bags, or luggage, on a secure place.

• Be mindful of your surroundings and avoid wandering alone at night in isolated areas.

• Consider contacting a tour operator to simplify your travels around the town.

• Finally, be respectful of residents.

• The legal age to consume alcoholic beverages in Puerto Rico is 18 years.
