Town History

We are a town with an enriched history. What we are today we owe to the past, but what we are in the future; It depends on you.

Our Blood

First discoverers called island Boriquén, meaning “land of the brave Lord.” Various communities existed for hundreds of years before Spanish arrival: Archaics, Igneris, Pre-Tainos, Tainos and Caribes. The result of mixed ethnicities result on who we are today: Boricua, Jibaro, Criollo.
