Enea 100 years of history

Town: Ciales, PR

For more than 100 years the Villalobos Family has kept this artisan tradition alive. A process that began with the palm leaf and very rustic materials gradually evolved to create what is known today as: Typical Wood Furniture with Enea fabric.

First we visiting the Artisan Mural on the Paseo Lineal Juan Antonio Corretjer, on the route we will cross the Mata de Platano Bridge and visit Fernando Otero Sawmill to learn about the origin of the wood, our native trees and then we are going the Juan Luis Villalobos workshop so, you not only learn about the history and furniture process; you will experiment how to weave the enea.

Yuyu Cave

Town: Ciales, PR

It is a special and unique experience where you will observe one of the longest and most important underground river systems in the Northern Karso region of Puerto Rico. We will meet at the meeting point at the agreed time.

Once at the starting point of the route, this trip to the interior of the earth will include a walk along a path of approximately 50 minutes. Upon arrival, you will go back to a space in constant development with formations of more than 140 million years. You will float across small areas, walk observing fauna for an hour and a half approximately. Then we return by the same path.

At the end of the tour, if you wish, you can join us to eat at one of the gastronomy places to support our local economy. We provide you with a portable changer, so you can bring extra dry clothes in a separate backpack.

Archillas Cave

Cueva de las Archillas, the link between two Ciales/Morovis sister towns. Juan Antonio Corretjer mentioned in one of his writings that to be a cialeño one had to climb the archillas. We will walk along the path, up the mountain for an hour. We will explore the cave, educating about its formations, its fauna and history in two stages; Archeology and World War II.

Extreme Adventure Las Delicias and Stairs Waterfall

Town: Ciales, PR

Located in the Bosque los Tres Picachos in the town of Ciales are the las Delicias Waterfalls and the Stairs Waterfall. Incredible rock formations, diverse fauna and flora will be some of the discoveries you will make in this area.

From the meeting point to the starting point of the route, approximately 30 minutes are calculated in a car.

Once in route, we will hike upriver to Stairs Waterfall for an hour and a half to two hours.

You will use between one and two occasions backup rope. This route is not set, so it is of extreme category.

After arriving at our first destination, we will take a break to enjoy and replenish energy. Starting our return downriver for two additional hours, until we rejoin the majestic Las Delicias Waterfall. Once we enjoy this space, we will provide you with information about local gastronomic businesses that you can visit after the
experience.

Venture and Conquer the Hydroelectric 1918 Ruins

At the meeting point , this adventure will include a tour towards the Cordillera neighborhood. In a private property that we have exclusive access named: Cabaña los Cañacas, we will take a hike into the forest by path and river up for about an hour and a half. This adventure is not a route set, with the purpose of not significantly impacting the ecological footprint or the state of the natural environment that surrounds, so we will traverse river up and into the forest . Also we will need our energy to use the rope as support to climb in some areas.

Walk the hydroelectric old channel, enjoy several puddles, listen the fauna. If you observe or listen carefully you could meet beautiful San Pedrito,Tturtles and Martinetes.

It’s a hike of approximately 4 hours. The purpose is for you to enjoy nature to the fullest and connect with you and you environment .

Blue Puddle and Arenales Cave

Less than an hour in car from the capital city of San Juan, you will in the heart of the mountains of Vega Alta town to discover the “Charco Azul” and “Las Cuevas de Arenales”.

A private parking wait for us. The first thing we will do is to descend a slope with a road for some 15 minutes. A good foot wearing is important. Our adventure start taking the path to Arenales Cave. Enjoy the vegetation, rock formations in the area and crossing the cave floating through the water.

After this magical place, your adventure isn’t finish because you are going to visit Charco Azul, a place like a movie paradise. Here you can jump into the water and float comfortably, enjoying the paradise that will surround. Between one or two in the afternoon. Cerro Mime + Charco la Tajea + Cascada el Vidrio

This three for one hike, is a wonderful combination. After we meet at the meeting point, we are going to drive for 10 minutes to arrive. Upon arrival we will park in front of the community house who will also provide us with access to the bathroom for $5. Is a humble family from the traditional fields of Orocovis.

The hike up the mountain begins briskly and intensifies as the steepness of the hill and the altitude increase. We will go up the path (between wide and narrow) some 30 to 45 minutes depending on the physical condition. It is important to protect yourself from the sun and bring enough water and snacks. At the top, the view is spectacular, seeing part of the karst and various towns on the island. After enjoying the view, we will go back to the beautiful “Charco la Tajea” to refresh ourselves and taking strengths to visit “el Vidrio Waterfall” a little hike for 10 to 15 minutes for the pond “la Tajea”.

At the end of the tour, we will offer you gastronomic options in the area, provide you with a portable changer.

Moron Puddle / Adventure to Paradise

Join this adventure and discover one of the magic places in Toro Negro Forest. After 40 minutes through a path and ending river up, we will see the majestic “Charco el Moron”. A crystalline water pond from 12 to 27 feet deep.

We will enjoy the flora and fauna of the place, swim freely, take the sun, learn what Dajao fish is, “morivivi” plant and others. Returning, play in the waters practicing “body rafting” and enjoying waterfalls, natural ridges, and various puddles.
